Trying to
give your cat can be a very difficult task. First, try hiding the pill in some
wet food, or maybe a favorite treat your cat enjoys. Use a small amount of food
to disguise the pill in so your cat can eat it all in one bite. If your cat will
not take the pill in food you will have administer the pill directly into your
cat's mouth.
1.
Place your cat in a safe and
comfortable area where it can be easily handled. Have the pill ready and easily
accessible.
2. Make sure that you have
carefully read the prescription label and understand the dosing instructions.
3. Hold the pill between your thumb and index finger.
4. Gently
bend your cat's head back until they are looking straight up at the ceiling.
When their head is all the way back, their mouth will naturally start to open.
5. Use your
forefinger to open your cat's moth buy placing it between his large canines on
the bottom of his jaw.
6. With the
mouth fully opened, drop the pill to the back of their throat. Continue to keep
their head fully back. Keep their head back until you see him lick his
lips. This is a good indication that they have swallowed the pill!
